James Plastiras is an attorney at Simmons Hanly Conroy who focuses on asbestos and talc cases, helping families seek justice from the companies responsible for their illnesses.

“I take a lot of pride in representing individuals who have been harmed due to corporate misconduct,” said James. “It’s an honor that my clients put their trust in me to handle their case.”

James is committed to building personal connections with each of his clients, so they can feel comfortable throughout the litigation process while he fights for compensation on their behalf.

Empowering Families to Pursue Justice

James’ decision to go into law and advocate for those impacted by toxic exposures is deeply rooted in his family’s history.

“My grandfather was a machinist during World War II, and he unfortunately passed away from an occupational disease as a result of the exposures he incurred during his service,” said James. “I saw firsthand how difficult a diagnosis like this can be on individuals and their loved ones.”

This personal experience pushed him to fight against negligent asbestos companies, which often put profits above the health and safety of workers and their families.

Throughout his career, James has successfully helped many clients get compensation for their medical bills, pain and suffering, lost wages, and other expenses.

Since 2017, he has secured over $150 million in settlements for families across the country, often allowing them to receive money without going to court.

He has participated in all aspects of asbestos litigation, from the initial filing of a case through trial, and he’s been a key member of several trial teams resulting in multimillion dollar recoveries for plaintiffs.

Recognizing that every client’s story is unique, James enjoys learning about the lives of those he represents while providing them with the confidence they need to stand up and fight, even when the odds seem stacked against them.

“I always strive to treat my clients with dignity, respect, and compassion,” expressed James. “I will fight as hard as I can to protect their rights and be a tireless advocate for them to ensure that they get their day in court and have their story heard.”
