This year’s Meso Foundation Symposium offers attendees valuable resources by providing access to expert panels on mesothelioma research, support for families dealing with a mesothelioma diagnosis, and a
time to come together and advocate for awareness on Capitol Hill.
The Firm, as the largest cumulative donor to the Meso Foundation, is proud to once again support the Foundation with a $100,000 donation, making it a Gold Sponsor of this year’s Symposium.
Two of our clients will be presenting sessions this year. Meso Survivor Julie Gundlach will co-present an update on the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program with Meso Foundation Nurse Mary Hesdorffer. The program fund research through the Department of Defense. These grants are
awarded by a peer review process that includes consumer participation. Julie was recently appointed by the Meso Foundation to serve as a consumer reviewer.
Shelly Kozicki, whose husband Craig passed away from mesothelioma, will talk about fundraising opportunities. She and her family have raised over $100,000 for the foundation and have a research grant named in Craig’s honor. This coming October Shelly will be hosting Quartermania in her hometown of St. Charles, Mo., a fundraiser to benefit her family’s research grant.
Watch the Meso Foundation’s Symposium from Home
This year you don’t have to travel to Washington, D.C. to attend the Meso Foundation’s Symposium. A selection of sessions and medical panels will be streamed live on the Meso Foundation’s website.
A live stream is an online broadcast that can be watched on a computer. It doesn’t require any special equipment. You only need your computer and an Internet connection. Navigate to the Meso Foundation’s Live Stream page and it will automatically start working.
The live stream will start on Thursday, July 12 at 8 a.m.
In addition, a special interactive Q&A session will take place online from 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Several mesothelioma doctors and researchers will be available to take questions via the Meso Foundation’s Facebook page. Featured doctors include Dr. Robert Taub, Dr. Faris Farassatio, Dr. Robert Kratzke, Dr. Harvey Pass, and Dr. Daniel Sterman.
