Simmons Hanly Conroy Partner Jennifer Alesio Named Among Daily Journal’s ‘Top Plaintiff Lawyers 2024’

Attorney Jennifer Alesio

SAN FRANCISCO – Simmons Hanly Conroy, one of the nation’s largest mass torts firms and a national leader in the legal representation of mesothelioma patients and their families, is pleased to announce that firm partner Jennifer Alesio has been named to the Daily Journal’s “Top Plaintiff Lawyers 2024,” marking Alesio’s second consecutive year on the list.

A trade publication that covers the Los Angeles and San Francisco legal communities, The Daily Journal publishes the “Top Plaintiff Lawyers” list each year to recognize lawyers with notable accomplishments representing plaintiffs in significant cases.

Based in Simmons Hanly Conroy’s San Francisco office, Jennifer Alesio was recognized among the “Top Plaintiff Lawyers” specifically for her work over the last two years on the following significant cases:

  • Cipriano Ramirez et al. v. Avon Products Inc. et al.: Alesio secured a $24 million jury award — following a nearly month-long trial — for the family of a former janitor whose previous exposure to asbestos-contaminated talc while working at an Avon Products facility caused him to develop mesothelioma.
  • Jessica Rose v. J-M Manufacturing Co. Inc. Alameda County: Alesio received an exceptionally favorable settlement in the case involving a client who developed mesothelioma and whose father exposed her as a child to asbestos from his work involving asbestos cement pipes.
  • Putt v. Ford Motor Co. (In re: LAOSD Asbestos Cases): Alesio represented Arthur Putt, a career auto mechanic who was exposed to asbestos dust from brakes in the 1960s and 1970s, in a game-changing legal battle in Los Angeles against the Ford Motor Company. The case culminated in a jury verdict, holding Ford accountable by awarding Arthur $8.5 million in compensation and sending a strong message with an additional $24 million in punitive damages.

Alesio focuses her practice on mesothelioma and asbestos-related cases, helping injured workers and their families secure the justice they deserve. During her more than 15 years of practicing law, she has served as trial attorney in several jury trials and secured more than $134 million in mesothelioma verdicts on behalf of individuals and families harmed by asbestos.

Her successes have been recognized as a “Top Plaintiffs’ Verdict” by The Daily Journal, a “Top 100 Verdict” by The National Law Journal, and The Recorder’s “Largest Products Liability Verdict of 2014” and “Largest Products Liability Verdict of 2019.”
