Miles for Meso donation 2024 to ADAO co-founder Linda Reinstein

ALTON, Ill. –  Simmons Hanly Conroy and the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) are highly appreciative of the Alton community for its support of the successful 16th Annual Alton Miles for Meso 5K Race and 3K Fun Run/Walk. Held Sept. 21, the event raised $27,500 to continue the ADAO’s mission of securing a U.S. ban on asbestos and supporting families impacted by asbestos-related diseases.

One of the nation’s largest mass torts firms and a national leader in the legal representation of mesothelioma patients and their families, Simmons Hanly Conroy hosted this year’s event along with Metro Tri Club of Edwardsville, Illinois.

This year’s Alton Miles for Meso coincided with the 25th anniversary of Simmons Hanly Conroy as a law firm and the 20th anniversary of the ADAO as a national nonprofit organization.

“We are proud to continue our support for the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization,” said Simmons Hanly Conroy Chairman John Simmons. “ADAO is a vital force working to spread awareness and improve the lives of families affected by asbestos exposure.”

ADAO President Linda Reinstein said, “As we mark the ADAO’s 20th year, we are extremely grateful once again for the generous support of Simmons Hanly Conroy. We are already excited and planning for next year’s race.”

An independent, nonprofit organization, the ADAO is a global leader dedicated to preventing asbestos exposure, eliminating asbestos-related diseases, raising public awareness about the dangers of asbestos, advocating for an asbestos ban, and protecting asbestos victims’ civil rights. Visit the ADAO’s website for more information.

The 2024 Alton Miles for Meso included more than 1,000 on-site racers and walkers plus virtual participants, as well as onlookers and supporters from across the United States and from Canada.

Since the first race in 2009, Miles for Meso races have been held in multiple locations nationwide, raising more than $952,000 for mesothelioma research and advocacy organizations.

Simmons Hanly Conroy is extremely grateful to all the fundraisers and donors who contributed to the success of this year’s Alton Miles for Meso.
